Can't Sleep? Place a drop of lavender essential oil to wrists which help to induce sleep. You can then wake up feeling better and refreshed a day out with the family.

Cold Remedy: Antihistamines may provide minor relief of several cold symptoms, including cough, sneezing, watery eyes and nasal discharge.

Poison Ivy: The first thing to do when suspecting poison ivy is to take a cool bath or shower. Apply an ice pack to the infected area if needed. Mix baking soda with water until you get a paste-like consistency and apply on infected area, reapplying every few hours. You can also add baking soda or oatmeal to a bath to relieve discomfort. Another remedy that is said to work is cold, black coffee over the infected area.

Ear Infection: Pour garlic juice in infected ear. Use a blow-dryer 12 – 15” from head. This will remove any water trapped in the ear. 2-3 drops of warm olive oil can work too.

Cough: To soothe a dry throat that has become irritated due to the spasms that occur through a coughing episode consider two tablespoons of honey that can be swallowed. The honey can be combined with tea, or even orange juice to boost the ability of the immune system. The texture of the honey is able to provide a coating for the irritated lining of the throat and soothe the aching throat. It is recommended that this be completed once daily.
